Well, this is the first post, so I guess I better describe the intent of this blog. First off, I wanted a place to put my thoughts out and be able to gain critique from other people of both hemispheres. Left and right, religious and atheist, student and dropout, patriot and anarchist. The title of the blog, The Hemisphere, I think reflects what I will be writing about, items of interest from my hemisphere. Of course, you could exchange the word hemisphere with viewpoint or opinion, however hemisphere has a certain aura about it and was obviously an available domain. I think you will come to discover what hemisphere I hail from through reading my posts throughout the life of this blog.
Some basic information about myself to start, shall we? I am currently a student of literature and am pretty settled on this as the path I will take with my life. However, this does not mean I have no interest in other fields of study. I started as a paleontology major and then completley jumped the boat to theology and then moved to philosophy, so I have a basic knowledge of these and still enjoy reading on the subjects.
Some things you can expect to see on this blog:
1.Rants on a wide variety of subjects.
2.Reviews of books, movies, or music.
3.Creative writing such as poems and short stories I have written.
I hope to have some other authors join the blog throughout its life, hopefully soon, and I hope you will enjoy reading the pieces that are written on it.
That about wraps it for this dull introduction and hopefully there will be more interesting works to come. Enjoy The Hemisphere!
